ABOUT THE STORIES

Broadly speaking, two of the stories included in Laura Lee and Other Stories, Devils and An August Colloquy, are philosophical in nature. Two others, Natty Sorrell and Confessions of a Ridiculous Man, deal with love denied or, more specifically, love never attained. The Baptism of Billy Ray Sikes is a story about redemption, while the title story, Laura Lee, probably the most complex of the group, is both philosophical and spiritual. The Mutiny of Harby Stone is the oddball of the bunch; it’s simply a light-hearted look inside a government bureaucracy.

All seven short stories included in Laura Lee and Other Stories were conceived and, for the most part, written between 1988 and 2000. All are totally fictitious. They are intended to entertain, amuse, and provoke thought. I hope you enjoy them.
